I have tried and printed upto A4 pages from the original toner cartirage Expeted prints per cartirage is I have saved lot of time and money using this type of printer as a student.

It was easy to set up and to use. Try to find a diagram on the brother website for any of the HL-2 series printers.
This model can also print wirelessly at x dpi, but nothing is stated about its ability to print automatically on two sides.
Oh and I can't believe the premature toner indication. Have used many Cannon brand printers and inkjets, just like the brother better, good solid lase.
No problems for 5 years or more. The last printer I had had multiple cartridges which were expensive to replace and a pain. You might need to replace btother but if the toner is newish, it might be that the drum is somehow wearing out.
I would have printed much less than half of one packet of paper less than sheets. It features fast printing at up to 22 pages per minute, high-quality output, flexible paper handling via an enclosed sheet capacity tray and a manual by-pass slot for printing envelopes and letterheads. A very good printer for school children, Uni students, small office or for home.
These are great printers btw, I've had my HL for a couple years now and I'm pretty sure the drum and toners last a lot longer than what they state.
Needed a new drum i thought for my HL which is the exact same printer except the colour of itand as 'HD' pointed out its cheaper to buy a whole new printer than the drum on its own. Try cleaning inside with a damp cloth allow to dry before using.

The toner capacity is above average so I wont be replacing it for a while. I wanted to find a cheap and reliable solution to expensive colour inkjet printers - mainly expensive cartridges.

I refilled it myself and it didn't last very long pages pages altogether until it started to blotch. It can be used easily, connected through USB, but it only prints 1 sided.

bgother Pretty much all cheaper laser printers are GDI printers. I got this to replace an inkjet as I was sick of the cost of cartridges.
